Meta is seeking an experienced regulatory lawyer to serve as associate general counsel for the EMEA region. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-impact legal team and take a lead role on novel regulatory and litigation matters.
What you'll do
The person in this position will take a lead role in investigations, regulatory litigation and engagement under various areas of regulatory law, including data protection law and consumer protection law. In this role you will apply your skills to explore the commercial implications of legal issues, employ strategic thinking to solve complex challenges, while using new technologies like AI.
- Lead on litigation, contentious regulatory engagements and regulatory inquiries and investigations in regulated areas of law across the EMEA region, including but not limited to the GDPR, ePrivacy-Directive (and its national implementations), and the Unfair Commercial Practices Directive (and its national implementations)
- Drive fact-finding investigations with partners across different teams
- Represent Meta in court and other external meetings
What you need
- EU-qualified lawyer with 7+ years post qualification experience in a law firm or equivalent in-house or regulatory experience
- Experience in litigation and/or contentious regulatory matters, including regulatory inquiries, investigations, and/or litigation, ideally across multiple jurisdictions
- Experience in areas of regulatory law, including the GDPR, ePrivacy-Directive (and its national implementations), the Unfair Commercial Practices Directive (and its national implementations), EU Digital Markets Act, EU Digital Services Act, and other relevant regulations throughout EMEA
