About the role
Anthropic's Finance Systems team builds and owns infrastructure powering the quote-to-cash lifecycle. As a Finance Systems Engineer, you will configure and extend third-party platforms like Zuora, Stripe, and Tesorio, and design, build, and own full-stack applications and integrations.
You will work at the intersection of software engineering and finance, building tools for Accounting, Revenue Operations, and Order Management teams to operate efficiently and in compliance with SOX and ASC 606 requirements.
Responsibilities
- Own architecture, development, and maintenance of Anthropic's internal finance applications
- Configure and administer third-party platforms like Zuora, Workday, and Tesorio
- Build and maintain integrations across the Finance systems stack
- Design auditable, observable, and recoverable system integrations
- Automate manual workflows in the month-end close
- Partner with teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical designs
- Develop technical documentation and data flow diagrams
- Contribute to continuous delivery infrastructure
- Instrument the Finance systems stack with observability tooling
Requirements
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- Proficient in Python and JavaScript/Node.js; React experience is a strong plus
- Experience building and maintaining system integrations
- Comfortable working directly in systems, configuring, troubleshooting, and building solutions
- Thrive in environments where the problem is ambiguous and the solution needs to be built from scratch
Nice to Have
- Experience with Workato, MuleSoft, or similar iPaaS platforms
- Worked with Zuora, CPQ, NetSuite, Workday, or Stripe in a technical capacity
- Built SOX-compliant systems or supported an external audit related to financial systems
- Deep understanding of ASC 606 revenue recognition or consumption-based billing models
