What the team is looking for.
We're hiring a London based Security Operations Manager to lead day-to-day corporate and physical security operations for OpenAI's London office, with a focus on the UK operating environment.
This is a hands-on, high trust role in a confidential technology environment, responsible for ensuring a safe workplace experience while maintaining discreet, professional security standards. You'll work closely with employees, cross-functional partners, building management, and external vendors, and will directly manage local security vendors and guard services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Operationalizing the London office physical security program, including access control, visitor management, contractor access, incident response, and office security operations.
- Managing security vendors and the contract guard force, including post orders, performance, coverage, KPIs / SLAs, and continuous improvement.
- Partnering closely with Workplace / Facilities, HR, IT / InfoSec, Legal, EHS, GSOC, and office leadership to implement sensible, employee-friendly security controls.
- Leading local incident response and follow-through, including documentation, after-action reviews, and corrective actions.
- Supporting security planning for in-office events, leadership visits, and business travel into / out of London as needed.
- Driving emergency preparedness, including evacuation / muster processes, tabletop exercises, and drills in coordination with Workplace.
We're looking for someone with:
- 8+ years in corporate security, protective services, law enforcement, military, or a related field with increasing responsibility.
- Demonstrated experience running office-based physical security in a modern corporate environment; technology experience is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage vendors and guard force operations with measurable outcomes across quality, consistency, service, and cost stewardship.
- Strong incident leadership skills, calm judgment under pressure, and high discretion.
- Excellent stakeholder management, with the ability to influence without friction and handle sensitive employee situations appropriately.
- Business-level English, spoken and written, for global collaboration, reporting, and executive-ready communication.
