What the team is looking for.
Product Counsel are key advisors to xAI's product and engineering teams, working cross-functionally across the organisation.
The role requires a deep understanding of xAI's products and business, and the ability to provide clear, practical advice in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice to xAI's product group and engineering teams on AI, personalization, and international expansion.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to build new products.
- Partner with leaders on the Legal and Public Policy teams to understand how xAI products work and how they're influenced by global laws.
- Help build scalable processes for providing legal input to clients on strategic product initiatives.
- Work with multiple functions, including Legal, Engineering, Safety, Policy, and Business Development.
- Stay up-to-date on relevant US and international laws and regulations.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of legal experience in areas such as AI, privacy, consumer protection, and content regulation law.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to explain complex ideas clearly.
- JD degree and bar admission or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Regulatory and in-house experience.
- Solution-oriented, customer service, and growth mindset.
- Experience as an in-house adviser for consumer platforms in the social media sector.
Annual Salary Range: $200,000 - $230,000 USD
