Role description

What the team is looking for.

We are seeking a Member of Technical Staff to join our team at xAI. You will write code and tests for production services, offline jobs, and internal tools, contributing to a well-crafted code base. Your responsibilities will include building storage systems, libraries, and frameworks to help xAI scale, deploying and maintaining production services, and finding ways to minimize ongoing effort. You will also work on scalability, resilience, and efficiency of backend components, collect and analyze data to draw insights, and collaborate with various teams to plan, implement, and validate solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Technology, Information Systems, or a related field, plus 1 year of experience in software development. Additionally, you must have 1 year of experience in each of the following areas:

  • Programming languages: Java, Scala, Python, NodeJS, and React
  • Backend development, including building scalable services and frameworks
  • Large language models and recommendation algorithms
  • Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure management
  • Applied advanced probabilistic modeling and mathematical analysis for product optimization and safety evaluation
  • Safety-related content classification

The salary range for this position is $180,000 - $220,000 per year.
