Finance Systems Engineer

We're looking for our first Finance Systems Engineer to support and evolve our Accounting, Billing, and Finance tools. You will focus on ensuring that our environment supports scalable, accurate, and efficient financial processes across Order to Cash and Record to Report.

As the most technically sophisticated member of the Finance Systems team, you will set the standards, solve the hardest problems, and make everyone around you faster and better without stepping out of the code yourself.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Owning the technical architecture of Cursor's finance systems
• Leading and executing the most complex, ambiguous implementations across Finance systems
• Partnering with Sales, Finance, Legal, and RevOps to translate messy commercial requirements into clean, scalable technical solutions
• Championing AI-forward automation in how Finance systems are built and operated
• Building with a strong balance of code and configuration

You may be a fit for this role if you have:

• Owned complex Finance Systems environments and integrations as a hands-on developer
• Implemented or fully owned an ERP or major components of one end-to-end and can speak to what broke and what you'd do differently
• Worked at pre-IPO companies through periods of real growth and know what adversity looks like and you stayed through it
• Strong opinions about developer tooling, CI/CD, and how to maintain velocity with safety
• Mentored by doing - pairing, building together, raising the team's technical ceiling through proximity, not PowerPoint
• Energized by ambiguity, move fast by default, and are burned by orgs where shipping takes a quarter
• Years of hands-on experience matter to you more than certifications

If you have any of these, we should talk!

• You have a software engineering background and work on systems like Netsuite, Stripe, and other Order to Cash systems
• You are proficient in a general-purpose programming language, ideally having shipped production code
• Your strong SQL is your second or third most important skill

We are looking for someone who has personally led the implementation or major redesign of a billing system or billing workflow that supported scaled, non-trivial billing complexity. If you have experience with this, please describe one billing or revenue recognition system problem you owned directly, including the billing model complexity involved, what you personally drove, and the outcome.

Please also describe your hands-on technical contribution to finance systems work, including any SQL, code, integrations, workflow automation, or architecture decisions you personally made.
