What the team is looking for.

Compensation

The base pay for this role is $266K – $295K, with equity offered. Total compensation includes a performance-related bonus for eligible employees and the following benefits:

The Core Models team focuses on how models interact with people, aiming for intuitive experiences that exceed user expectations.

About the Role

As a Model Designer, you'll have a significant impact on how models interact and resonate with users. You'll balance maximizing model capabilities, understanding user queries, and upholding user trust.

We're looking for individuals passionate about the intersection of design, technology, and user experience, who are up for defining new human-AI interaction paradigms.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with researchers to understand, predict, and design model behavior
  • Partner with product managers and designers to ensure a cohesive voice and approach
  • Identify ways to improve models based on product sense, user feedback, quantitative insights, and the research roadmap
  • Develop creative strategies for collecting high-quality data
  • Take on tasks to enhance model performance

Requirements

  • Exceptional taste, creativity, and writing skills
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to build relationships, define problems, and make progress in new environments
  • Experience with experimentation and testing ideas
  • High levels of empathy and self-awareness
  • Ability to tackle complex, philosophical questions while driving towards clarity
  • Technical intuition to understand how data changes affect model behavior
