The Transportation Specialist acts as the primary interface between Amazon and external stakeholder partners, such as carriers and transporters. As a representative of Amazon, you will facilitate the flow of information between different stakeholders, including carriers, hubs, and warehouses, and resolve any potential issues that impact customer experience and business continuity.
Your key responsibilities will include communicating with external customers and internal customers for ad-hoc cancellations, delays, or any other disruptions in the transportation network. You must be able to systematically escalate problems or variance in information and data to the relevant owners and teams and follow through on the resolutions to ensure they are delivered.
In addition, you will be responsible for pulling data from numerous databases using Excel, Access, SQL, and/or other data management systems, and performing ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed. You will develop and/or understand performance metrics to assist with driving business results.
As a Transportation Specialist, you will demonstrate excellent time-management skills by providing real-time customer experience while working in a fast-paced operating environment. You will work within various time constraints to meet critical business needs, while measuring and identifying activities performed.
The RO (Relay Operations) team is the central command and control center for 'Transportation Execution' across the Amazon Supply Chain network supporting India operations. The team deals with the Amazon supply chain network right from First Mile till the Last Mile Delivery Stations. In case of any exceptions, RO steps in to resolve the issue and keeps all the stakeholders informed of the proceedings.
Along with tactical problem-solving, the team is also charged with understanding trends in network exceptions and then automating processes or proposing process changes to streamline operations. This second aspect involves network monitoring and analysis of network data.
