Join Amazon's mission to become Earth's safest place to work. As a dedicated Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Manager, you'll lead our Global WHS Program implementation, combining hands-on safety management with strategic thinking to protect our people.
Your role bridges the gap between safety requirements and operational success, requiring both technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills. Working closely with Operations leadership, you'll drive safety initiatives that make a real difference.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting comprehensive risk assessments and analyzing safety data to identify areas for improvement
- Implementing practical solutions that protect associates while supporting productivity
- Leading safety compliance efforts and conducting thorough site audits to ensure adherence to WHS policies
- Analyzing incident trends to target improvements where they matter most
- Managing our first aid program and emergency response capabilities to ensure immediate care is always available

Additional Job Elements:
- Travel 50-70% of the time and work various shifts
- Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach

- Maintain effective care delivery in emergencies and assist emergency response at the site
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
- 3+ years of increasing responsibilities in WHS and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations
- 3+ years of increasing responsibilities in people and performance management, or 2+ years of Amazon Safety (blue badge/FTE) experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Distribution Center or manufacturing safety experience with mix of exempt and non-exempt employees at a site of at least 250 people preferred
- Master’s degree preferred
- Experience in a fast-paced, changing/growing organization
- Certified Safety Professional preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort collaborating with site leaders
- Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability
- Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and the use of pivot tables and the development of charts and graphics
- Ability to manage multiple sites/remotely
