You will oversee structural contractors and crews building the advanced structural infrastructure for xAI's Memphis Data Center. This includes deep foundations, concrete slabs, pile systems, structural steel framing, equipment pads, seismic bracing, and heavy support structures that form the backbone of the facility.
This is a full-time, onsite role based in Memphis, Tennessee, with relocation required depending on additional construction locations within the US.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate structural installations including foundations, formwork, rebar placement, concrete pouring and finishing, structural steel erection, embeds, equipment supports, and seismic/wind-resistant systems for xAI Data Centers.
- Manage and schedule structural contractors, subcontractors, and on-site crews to deliver project milestones on time and to xAI's exacting quality and reliability standards.
- Ensure all contractors adhere to structural scope, delivering high-integrity foundations and building frameworks critical to supporting massive electrical and mechanical loads.
- Monitor daily progress of structural construction, maintaining detailed logs, red-line drawings, and as-built documentation for all structural elements.
- Develop and enforce aggressive construction schedules while keeping the project on time and within budget.
- Champion and enforce xAI's safety program, building a zero-incident culture across all teams working around excavations, heavy rigging, elevated steel erection, and concrete operations.
- Lead, train, and supervise foremen and structural crews, fostering teamwork and accountability in a high-stakes mission-critical environment.
- Proactively resolve on-site challenges , material delays, technical conflicts, sequencing issues, and coordination with civil, electrical, and mechanical trades , with a strong focus on structural integrity and code compliance.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance with local regulations, structural codes, safety protocols, and xAI's stringent quality standards.
- Prepare and present clear progress reports, structural construction metrics, and risk updates to senior leadership.
