This role sits at the heart of strategic decision-making, turning market data into actionable insights for a company that's revolutionising haptic entertainment technology. You'll work directly with leadership to shape the company's direction in the cinema and simulation markets.
About the Role
As a Research Scientist at Google DeepMind, you will work on a diverse and stimulating range of projects including developing algorithms and prototype applications, designing and implementing evaluations, and collaborating with Research Engineers to bring our research to real-world impact. Your key responsibilities will be to provide software design and programming expertise to research projects, pairing closely with Research Scientists to better engineer and implement novel theoretical ideas. You will also digest and understand complex research papers, theory and practice, own, report and present (verbally and in writing) engineering developments and experimental results to both the immediate and broader research teams, and externally.

The Candidate we're looking for
Experience:
- PhD degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, ML or equivalent. Alternatively, 5+ years of research experience in leading AI industry labs.
Technical skills:
- Strong knowledge and experience of Python
- Experience with data processing and visualisation
- Working knowledge of Jax, Tensorflow or similar frameworks
- Proven knowledge of ML and/or statistics, e.g. deep learning, etc.
