As a Policy Analyst, LATAM, you will ensure effective execution of complex cross-functional plans that advance key company priorities across Latin America. You will help the company assess and engage in emerging policy opportunities, and address challenges throughout the region. A key priority will be to engage external stakeholders across LATAM to drive progress in AI policy and AI safety.
You will contribute to the development of strategies to support Anthropic's LATAM policy objectives, including implementation plans and metrics. You will support projects to ensure smooth entry to new LATAM markets from a regulatory perspective. You will propose and develop new programming and generate opportunities for Anthropic to build relationships with policymakers, think tanks, and non-profit organizations across Latin America, with particular focus on Brazil and other key regional markets.
You will create initial policy stakeholder maps and devise strategic engagement plans tailored to LATAM political and regulatory contexts. You will collaborate with policy and technical teams to translate Anthropic research into concrete policy proposals, stakeholder education, and thought leadership opportunities relevant to LATAM audiences. You will draft and amplify public submissions, responses to requests for information (RFI), and policy memos written by Anthropic to drive positive change in AI policy across the region.
To be successful in this role, you should have a track record of supporting tech and AI policy advocacy in LATAM, with deep familiarity with Brazil's regulatory landscape and broader regional policy dynamics. You should be a skilled researcher, analyst, and writer. You should thrive when engaging with governments, policymakers, and civil society to translate complex technical topics into accessible information.
Strong candidates may also have extensive experience engaging government regulatory authorities in Brazil, Mexico, and other major LATAM markets from a private sector perspective. They may have demonstrated an ability to quickly get up to speed on complex technical areas and policy dynamics. They may have a background in entrepreneurship and existing relationships with LATAM think tanks, civil society organizations, or multilateral institutions working on technology policy.
