As a Technical Program Manager on the XR Tech team at Meta, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and mixed reality (MR) experiences. You will lead cross-functional teams to design, develop, and scale crowdsourced mapping and location technologies that enable spatially aware devices and applications.
Responsibilities
Lead the development and delivery of crowdsourced mapping, localization, and spatial understanding programs for XR devices and platforms, from requirements definition through launch and scaling
You will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of crowdsourced mapping, localization, and spatial understanding programs for XR devices and platforms. This will involve working with cross-functional teams to define requirements, design and develop solutions, and ensure successful launch and scaling of the programs.
Manage cross-functional programs spanning data collection, map building pipelines, on-device localization, and location services — coordinating across engineering, research, product, data, and operations teams
You will be responsible for managing cross-functional programs that span data collection, map building pipelines, on-device localization, and location services. This will involve coordinating across engineering, research, product, data, and operations teams to ensure successful execution of the programs.
Drive partnerships and integrations with internal teams across Meta (e.g., AR/VR product teams, AI/ML platforms, privacy and policy) and external partners to advance mapping and location experience
You will be responsible for driving partnerships and integrations with internal teams across Meta and external partners to advance mapping and location experience. This will involve working with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for collaboration and developing strategies to advance the mapping and location experience.
Operate at different levels of abstraction, from high-level strategic planning (system architecture, technology selection, platform strategy, roadmap alignment) to tactical project management (prioritization, schedule creation, milestone definition and execution, and deliverable management)
You will be responsible for operating at different levels of abstraction, from high-level strategic planning to tactical project management. This will involve working with cross-functional teams to define system architecture, select technologies, develop platform strategies, and align roadmaps, as well as prioritizing tasks, creating schedules, defining milestones, and executing deliverables.
Break down the complexity of technical programs involving large-scale data systems, ML pipelines, and on-device software to enable a clear understanding of scope and deliverables across a broad audience of engineers, researchers, and leadership
You will be responsible for breaking down the complexity of technical programs involving large-scale data systems, ML pipelines, and on-device software to enable a clear understanding of scope and deliverables across a broad audience of engineers, researchers, and leadership. This will involve working with cross-functional teams to develop clear and concise documentation and presentations that communicate the scope and deliverables of the programs.
Proactively identify technical, privacy, legal, data quality, and cross-team dependency risks and drive creative solutions to address them
You will be responsible for proactively identifying technical, privacy, legal, data quality, and cross-team dependency risks and driving creative solutions to address them. This will involve working with cross-functional teams to develop strategies to mitigate risks and ensure successful execution of the programs.
Identify resources needed and work closely with engineering and research leads to maintain full visibility of program schedules, dependencies, and potential roadblocks
You will be responsible for identifying resources needed and working closely with engineering and research leads to maintain full visibility of program schedules, dependencies, and potential roadblocks. This will involve working with cross-functional teams to develop schedules, identify dependencies, and develop strategies to mitigate potential roadblocks.
Act as the primary communication channel for key discussions and decisions involving engineering leadership, partner teams, support functions (Legal, Privacy, Policy, Data Engineering), and external collaborators
You will be responsible for acting as the primary communication channel for key discussions and decisions involving engineering leadership, partner teams, support functions, and external collaborators. This will involve working with cross-functional teams to develop clear and concise communication plans and ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned.
Champion program execution best practices, driving clarity on goals, metrics, and success criteria across all workstreams
You will be responsible for championing program execution best practices, driving clarity on goals, metrics, and success criteria across all workstreams. This will involve working with cross-functional teams to develop clear and concise documentation and presentations that communicate the goals, metrics, and success criteria of the programs.
