Job Description

As a Technical Program Manager, Public Sector, you will play a key role in ensuring that Scale's Public Sector customer base becomes passionate, lifelong partners. You will be a catalyst, driving change, and leveraging technical concepts, tools, and expertise to create solutions from scratch or drastically improve existing ones.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Driving innovation and transformation by diving deep into technical and operational challenges, solving undefined problems, and delivering impactful solutions for Public Sector customers
  • Leveraging technical concepts, tools, and expertise to create solutions from scratch or drastically improve existing solutions
  • Using data, analytics, and technical expertise to align internal resources and create tools that directly add value to customers in the public sector space
  • Transitioning AI/ML technologies and processes into working Public Sector products/solutions even when requirements are undefined or ambiguous
  • Partnering with engineering, operations, and other public sector teams to build and deliver AI systems tailored to unique government use cases in the computer vision and generative AI domains
  • Leading a cross-functional team to exceed the customer's AI/ML objectives
  • Managing the long-term health of the customer base by identifying and preempting areas of risk or concern
  • Strategically identifying ways we can make customer success repeatable and solve issues for future customers
  • Addressing engineering problems alongside the product development teams

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • An active TS/SCI clearance
  • 3+ years of experience succeeding in stakeholder management or customer-facing role
  • A technical background (education or professional experience with CS, Economics, Statistics, Engineering)
  • A deep understanding of ML operations process
  • A track record of structured, analytics-driven problem-solving
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to travel at least 25% of the time

At Scale, we have a diverse team with a variety of skill sets, and many have:

  • 10+ years of professional experience, often in a customer-facing technical program management role in industry or government
  • Prior experience at an API technology company and/or managing technical customers using an API
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, or other programming languages

We offer competitive compensation packages, including base salary, equity, and benefits. The base salary range for this full-time position in Washington, DC is $162,800 – $203,500 USD.
