We are looking for an experienced Legal Counsel to support Mistral AI's GDPR compliance strategy. The role exists to manage Mistral AI's compliance documentation, answer and manage data subject requests, and implement GDPR processes and automation.
What you'll do
- Manage Mistral AI's compliance documentation (records of processing of personal data, data privacy impact assessments, internal policies, etc.)
- Answer and manage data subject requests; implement GDPR processes and automation
- Manage employee training on privacy topics
- Negotiate DPAs with Mistral AI's providers and customers
- Monitor privacy regulations and supervisory authorities guidance or decisions
What you need
- Background: Master degree in law, a bar admission is a plus, as well as an experience in a fast-growing environment
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in a law firm or in a tech company, in IT law and specifically in privacy law and GDPR compliance
- Knowledge of privacy law: The candidate has a good knowledge of privacy regulations and guidance from national supervisory authorities as well as the EDPB
- Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence: An understanding of artificial intelligence technologies and their applications is essential
- Solution oriented approach: The ideal candidate should be able to identify compliance issues and develop effective strategies to address and resolve them. They should be capable of implementing practical solutions
- Project management: The candidate has good project management skills
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex legal and technical issues related to AI and to identify potential legal risks and solutions is important. Candidates should be detail-oriented and have strong problem-solving skills
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication; Strong ability to present complex legal concepts in a clear and understandable manner. Business oriented
- International mindset: An international experience is a plus
- Adaptability: Given the rapidly evolving nature of AI technologies and the legal landscape surrounding them, candidates should be adaptable and willing to continuously learn and update their skills and knowledge. Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Proactive, flexible, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
