Hardware Systems Engineer Role
Meta is looking for a Hardware Systems Engineer to work on the hardware lifecycle of servers, including pre-production hands-on system and hardware debugging and stress testing. The ideal candidate will enable production-ready system monitoring, automated provisioning, and automated remediation of issues.
Responsibilities
- Work on the hardware lifecycle of servers, including pre-production hands-on system and hardware debugging and stress testing.
- Enable production-ready system monitoring, automated provisioning, and automated remediation of issues.
- Test systems before release to production data centers and track the health and lifecycle of servers in production.
- Deliver scalable and reliable custom ASIC solutions to meet data center needs.
- Work with end users to understand system use cases to help guide validation.
- Ensure tight loops between hardware qualification and final application use models.
- Identify volume and velocity of qualifications to allow the fastest possible ramp to production.
- Work on all aspects of silicon productization, including early architecture and design inputs, pre-silicon validation, bring-up, and post-silicon characterization.
- Write tests, create bare metal operating systems, enable frameworks allowing reuse and scale testing from pre-silicon platforms to many ASICs during the post silicon phase.
- Work on functional and electrical characterization over temperature, process corner, and voltage.
- Build and maintain extensive lab automation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Software, Computer Engineering, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, or related field.
- Two years of work experience in the job offered or in a computer-related occupation.
- Requires two years of experience in:
- Building systems/products for silicon enablement
- Troubleshooting and analytics tools
- Working with internal and external partners for device integration and systems development
- Developing test specifications, procedures, and debug guides for test solutions
- Modules/domains: Characterization, emulation, or embedded programming
