At Hugging Face, we're on a journey to democratize good AI.
We are building the fastest growing platform for AI builders with over 11 million users who collectively shared over 2M models, 700k datasets & 600k apps. Our open-source libraries have more than 600k+ stars on Github.
About the Role
As our first Developer Relation ML Engineer focused on Robotics, you’ll play a pivotal role in bridging cutting-edge machine learning research with real-world robotics applications. You’ll be the face of our open-source robotics initiatives, engaging with builders, creating compelling content, and empowering the community to innovate using tools like LeRobot, Hugging Face Hub, and robotics foundation models (e.g., VLAs).
Your main missions:
-
Community Growth: Help grow and nurture the open-source robotics community—launch initiatives, collaborate with existing groups, and organize events or challenges.
-
Platform Evangelism: Promote the Hugging Face Hub as the go-to platform for robotics—curating and showcasing models, datasets, simulators, research papers, and community projects.
-
Build & Demo: Fine-tune and deploy robotics foundation models (Vision-Language-Action models, policy models, etc.) on real and simulated robots (e.g., Reachy Mini) to create fun, educational, and inspiring applications.
-
Content Creation: Produce high-quality tutorials, videos, blog posts, and example scripts that showcase what’s possible with open-source AI in robotics.
-
Community Engagement: Actively participate in online communities (Discord, Reddit, social media, forums), highlight community contributions, and foster collaboration.
-
Open-Source Advocacy: Contribute to and improve open-source robotics libraries (e.g., LeRobot), identify friction points for newcomers, and help streamline the developer experience.
-
Documentation & Best Practices: Ensure model and dataset releases on the Hugging Face Hub follow open-source best practices, with clear, up-to-date model cards, dataset cards, and example code.
About you
You’re a great fit if you:
-
Graduated from an MS or PhD Degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning or a related field.
-
Have strong technical skills in Python, ML frameworks (PyTorch, etc.), and robotics tools (ROS, simulators, or real hardware).
-
Are a hands-on builder who loves creating AI-powered robotics projects and experimenting with new technologies.
-
Can clearly explain complex technical topics through writing, video, or live demos—making them accessible to all.
-
Are active in developer communities (Discord, GitHub) and passionate about sharing knowledge and empowering others.
-
Are passionate about open source, thrive in fast-moving environments, and enjoy building in public to inspire a community.
If you're interested in joining us, but don't tick every box above, we still encourage you to apply!
