We're seeking an experienced Data Analyst to be a key strategic partner in our talent strategy. As a Talent Intelligence Data Analyst, you will go beyond data processing to provide an unbiased, strategic perspective that drives tangible organisational decisions. You will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), independently scoping and delivering end-to-end analytical projects that measure and improve our ability to attract, grow, and retain talent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate complex, ambiguous talent questions into structured analytical frameworks and North Star metrics.
- Independently own the full analytical lifecycle from data extraction and complex SQL manipulation to delivering compelling data narratives that influence senior stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain sophisticated and sustainable reporting tools to provide ongoing visibility into talent insights, enabling self-service analytics for our Talent, Performance and Reward teams.
- Responsibly produce rigorous analysis at pace, using intuition and building in logical assumptions when perfect data is unavailable, ensuring decision-making isn't stalled by a lack of total certainty.
- Partner directly with HR Business Partners and Leaders to integrate data-driven insights into core talent initiatives, such as investment strategies and attrition mitigation.
About You:
- To set you up for success as a Talent Intelligence Data Analyst at Google DeepMind, we look for the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, etc.) or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or quantitative analysis, solving complex business problems using SQL and Python/R.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, with a track record of building automations or workflow scripts (e.g., Apps Script, VBA, or JavaScript-based automation tools) to bridge data gaps.
- Exceptional ability to translate complex findings into clear, actionable narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Curiosity and ability to use AI tools practically and responsibly to improve analytical velocity and accuracy.
- Experience with or at least interest in HR/People Analytics, including working with sensitive and confidential data.
- Ability to self-start and self-direct work in an unstructured, fast-paced, challenging environment.
Why You'll Love Working Here:
- You'll have a direct and meaningful impact on the strategies that empower our most valuable asset: our people. Your work will help shape the future of talent at Google DeepMind.
- You'll have the opportunity to grow your skills and expertise in a fast-paced and innovative environment, working on some of the most complex and interesting talent challenges in the industry.
- You'll work with a talented and passionate team of people who are excited about what they do and have fun doing it.
